MELBOURNE, Florida — BAE Systems has relocated its Space Coast Operations from Satellite Beach to Melbourne and begun hiring additional employees. The company’s new facility, at 3060 Venture Lane, provides more office space to support BAE Systems’ growing business and expanding customer base.
The Melbourne facility specializes in engineering services for telecommunications and information technology; technical support for unmanned aircraft systems and treaty monitoring; and program management and integrated logistics support for military and government agencies worldwide. Its customers include Patrick Air Force Base, Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, and NASA’s Kennedy Space Center.
“We’re proud to be a vital and growing part of the Space Coast community,” said Roger Hornsby, manager of Space Coast Operations for BAE Systems. “Our local roots run deep, with most of our employees having lived in Brevard County for more than 20 years, many serving in the military while stationed at Patrick.”
BAE Systems employs 80 people at the company’s Space Coast Operations and expects to hire about 40 network design engineers and installation technicians over the next year. These employees will support customers locally and around the world.
