Bratislava -BAE Systems has been awarded the Grand Prix at the IDEB defence exhibition in Bratislava for the MOKYS communications system.
BAE Systems delivered the first seven prototypes of the MOKYS system to the Slovak MoD in December 2007, on time and on budget. The Grand Prix was awarded by a professional jury of representatives of the Slovak Defence Ministry and was judged against the following parameters - advanced technological development, environmental impact, innovation, reliability, level of technical documentation and servicing requirements.
MOKYS is a modular, highly mobile communications system. It can operate independent of changes in the configuration of forces and provides fully integrated security and automated command and control. MOKYS allows the Slovak Armed forces full interoperability with NATO both in military and in non-military missions. The BAE Systems solution uses a mixture of military and commercial off-the-shelf technology and has sufficient capacity to provide for secure data transfer of audio, text, and video.
In delivering MOKYS, BAE Systems is closely cooperating with leading Slovak companies including Corinex, Delta Defence, Delta B, Vyvoj Martin and Lynx. In addition, BAE Systems has signed an offset agreement with the Slovak government.
