BAE Systems Earns Best Supplier Recognition; Receives Gold Award

Lansdale, Pennsylvania, United States. — The Defense Supply Center has recognized BAE Systems as one of the U.S. government’s best suppliers for meeting stringent Defense Department requirements.

BAE Systems’ facility at Lansdale, Pennsylvania, received a Best Value Gold Medal from the U.S. Defense Logistics Agency for providing spare parts to the Defense Supply Center in Richmond, Virginia. The company was recognized for 100 percent on-time delivery and product quality during 2006.

The company received the award during a June 5 Aviation Supply Chain conference in Richmond from Navy Rear Adm. Mark Heinrich, supply center commander.

 “This award is a tribute to our commitment to be the most dependable provider of innovative solutions for our customers,” said John Scott, BAE Systems program manager at the Lansdale facility.

The DLA measures vendor performance via numeric scores ranging from zero to 100. Suppliers with a score of 100 earn a gold medal. Those receiving a score of 99 to 99.9 earn a silver award, and vendors with scores between 98 and 98.9 receive bronze recognition.
