JOHNSON CITY, New York — BAE Systems and Cummins Power Systems Inc. have signed an agreement that establishes Cummins Power Systems as a factory-authorized service center for BAE Systems’ HybriDrive® propulsion systems. Cummins will provide diagnostic services and warranty-covered repairs to the entire power train on Orion VII hybrid electric transit buses in the Philadelphia and Washington, D.C., areas.
Cummins already is an established partner with BAE Systems through its Cummins West Inc. unit, which provides service to HybriDrive propulsion systems in the San Francisco area.

Cummins Power Systems is the exclusive distributor of Cummins products in Delaware, Pennsylvania, Maryland, northern Virginia, and southern New Jersey. “We pride ourselves on delivering fast, proven solutions to our worldwide customers,” said Roger W. Morrison, vice president of Transit for Cummins Power Systems. “As our relationship with BAE Systems continues to grow, we look forward to providing their transit bus customers with the same high-quality service we offer for our engines and components.”
The HybriDrive propulsion system is currently available on the DaimlerChrysler Orion VII hybrid transit bus. Cummins has supplied its ISB engines for the HybriDrive propulsion system on Orion buses since 1999.
