Highly successful year for JetSpares as 71 more aircraft added to the programme valued at $73 million
BAE Systems Regional Aircraft has built upon the recent major series of lease transactions with three airlines in the Lufthansa Regional grouping, by signing its largest ever JetSpares support contracts with Lufthansa Cityline, Eurowings and Air Dolomiti.
The contracts are valued at $30 million over the term of the agreement and cover a total of 37 aircraft (18 RJ85s with Lufthansa Cityline; 14 BAe 146-200/300s with Eurowings and five BAe 146-300s with Air Dolomiti).
Announcing the new contract today Rob Hearn, Customer Services Director of Regional Aircraft said: We are delighted to have secured this new and important business from the Lufthansa Regional grouping for our JetSpares support programme. Coming on top of the recent significant lease transactions with these three Lufthansa airlines this is a real vote of confidence in Regional Aircrafts capability, to provide both aircraft leasing and Integrated Support Packages.
This new deal brings the total of BAe 146/Avro RJs covered under the JetSpares programme to 190 aircraft, representing half of the in-service fleet. A total of 71 aircraft were added to the JetSpares programme during 2005, where either repeat business was secured for a longer contract term, or where new customers were enrolled on to the programme.
In addition, 95% of all new portfolio leasing customers for BAe 146/Avro RJs and ATPs secured during the year by the Asset Management team, signed up for either JetSpares or the turboprop equivalent programme MACRO emphasising the strong Integrated Support packages that are now being marketed successfully.
Rob Hearn continued: The market is responding to Regional Aircrafts improved performance and better integrated support offerings and we are very pleased to have added 71 aircraft to JetSpares in the face of a highly competitive marketplace. We are working hard to further increase the penetration of the popular and cost-effective JetSpares programme across more airlines with BAe 146/Avro RJ fleets.
JetSpares is an individually customised support programme, designed to allow an airline to concentrate on its operations while BAE Systems takes care of spares inventory, logistics and repairs. The priority is to keep the airlines business running smoothly by providing a first-class support service at a fixed monthly cost.
