Club Air Sixgo S.p.a. of Italy has doubled its BAe 146 fleet with the lease of two further Series 200 aircraft from BAE Systems Regional Aircraft. The first of the newly leased aircraft (E2204) was delivered at the end of May, with the second (E2066) following in June.
Club Air commenced operations in November 2002 from its Verona base with two BAe 146-200s. Its prime mission is to develop air transport from Italian regional airports into South Eastern Europe Currently it operates 85 weekly flights and carries over 150,000 passengers a year on a rapidly increasing network serving the Balkans.
From Verona, Club Air flies to Bucharest, Timisoara, Orad and Bacau in Romania , as well as to Pristina in Kosovo, Tirana in Albania and Kishinev in Moldova.. In July a new route Verona Skopje in Macedonia will be opened.
Serving the needs of both Italian business traffic and emerging tourism requirements, the airline also flies from Bologna to Cluj in Romania, from Florence to Bucharest and Timisoara and also serves Timisoara from Ancona and Bari.
In addition, Club Air also operates both summer and ad hoc charters and is seeking to expand its operations to cover both Italian domestic routes and from Italy to EU destinations, as well as further expansion eastwards into the CIS.
