BAE SYSTEMS names R. Scott rettig as Vice President for U.S. Sales and Marketing, Avionics Group

BAE Systems has named R. Scott Rettig to a newly created position as Vice President for Sales and Marketing for all of Avionics Group activities in the United States. He will be located in the BAE Systems North America offices in Arlington, Virginia.

Rettig will be responsible for the development, oversight and implementation of the Groups US Sales, Marketing and Customer relations as part of the Business Acquisition and Customer Relations Directorate of Avionics. In addition, he is specifically responsible for coordinating his efforts for Avionics across all other aspects of BAE Systems activities in the United States.

Most recently, Rettig was Vice President and Director of Marketing, Alenia Marconi Systems Inc. Prior to that he held positions of increasing responsibility with Ferranti Defence Systems Limited, GEC Ferranti, GEC-Marconi Navigation & Electro-optic Systems, and Marconi Defence Systems Ltd. He has also held management positions in Contracts, Procurement and Business Development at Hughes Aircraft Company and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. While at JPL and the California Institute of Technology, he received a Presidential Citation for his activities in support of the Voyager Mission and the Deep Space Flight Network.

A native of Chicago, Illinois, Rettig is an honors graduate from Loyola Marymount University, and holds degrees in Political Science, English and Communications as well as a Masters of Business Administration from Loyola University. He studied European common markets at Schiller College, Heidelberg, Germany. He is an active member of many industrial associations including AFA, MCAA, AUSA, Old Crows, Navy League, NDIA, NGAUS, and AFCEA.

Rettig and his wife Melissa have three young children. He enjoys and supports the Arts, participates in all sports and continues to work on his golf at Mount Vernon CC.
