BAE SYSTEMS announces improved support services for 748 aircraft

10 Sep 2001

BAE Systems has announced the appointment of RF Saywell Ltd as the sole distributor of spares for the HS748 aircraft. BAE Systems will itself continue to provide full technical support and liaison services to operators of the fleet.

The award of this spares agreement to RF Saywell Ltd, combined with the ongoing arrangements for other support services from BAE Systems, confirms and enhances both companies commitment to provide world class in-service support to operators of the 748.

RF Saywell Ltd's own vast spares inventory is held at Worthing in South East England and the service is supported by their office in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, for the North American market. This stock has been further enhanced by inventory worth more than 18 million, previously held by BAE Systems, which has already been relocated to RF Saywell Ltd. A large pool of rotable components is available and distribution agreements are already in place with many manufacturers of consumable parts.

Around 250 HS748 aircraft, a highly versatile and effective 50-seat turboprop with twin Rolls-Royce Dart engines, remain with operators in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia Pacific, Australasia and the Americas.
