Leadership Training

The program’s objective is to facilitate the growth of an individual’s leadership skills.

Leadership Development Conference


Members attend three week-long conferences designed to provide specialized leadership training and an opportunity to interact with senior BAE Systems executives.  Each year, members are exposed to a different aspect of leadership:

• Year One: How to be an Effective Team Member
• Year Two: Keys to Being an Effective Leader
• Year Three: Leadership in Action

In addition, members have the added bonus of interacting with peers from all leadership development programs across the country.

 

Other Leadership Opportunities


During the first year of the program, OLDP members are assigned a class project in addition to their rotation. Class projects are moderately complex, high profile, and strategic in nature.  The project culminates with a series of presentations to upper level management, which often results in the implementation of participants’ recommendations.

In the second and third years of the program, members are given to opportunity to take on a leadership role in addition to their rotation.  Previous participants have led leadership development program recruiting, organized company-wide charity events, and represent the OLDP team during senior-level management meetings.
