HRLDP Benefits
This annual conference brings together LDP participants from all over the United States and those participants who are on rotation abroad. LDC takes place in conjunction with the University of New Hampshire's Brown Center, at the Bolger Center, in Potomac Maryland and provides an excellent opportunity for HRLDP participants to network with managers, executives, and other Leadership Development Program participants.
LDP participants are broken into various groups throughout the course of the conference. The primary focus for each year is as follows:
LDC 1 (for first-year participants) — Information and training in all functional areas (HR, Finance, Engineering, Operations) and a focus on BAE Systems' strategies, values and vision. Provides participants with a baseline understanding of emotional intelligence, an understanding of their individual learning style, and what it takes to be a strong team member.
LDC 2 (for second-year participants) — Information and training in personal identification, analysis of the employee's own strengths and weaknesses and how he or she can leverage these in the business environment. Participants learn fundamental leadership skills and how their personal behavior affects the team and shapes the work environment.
LDC 3 (for third-year participants) — Information and training in organizational leadership. Participants are trained in culture and behavior of an organization, introduction to management of change, and style and behavior management. Other aspects include the development of strategies and long-term focus needed in a global environment, as well as implementing and practicing the leadership skills and techniques learned in the previous years.
