Finance Leadership Development Program
Program control/program accounting exposes the FLDP participant to work with a Program Manager in planning, controlling, and reporting program performance relating to cost and schedule. Program control works within a program team to develop an accurate view of the performance of their contract.
Major position responsibilities:
- Assure successful execution of programs through establishment, application, and maintenance of program plans.
- Conduct earned value performance measurement tasks to include work authorization, progress measurement on cost, schedule, manpower, and material plans, analysis of variances from plan, and recommend and implement corrective action.
- Prepare program reviews and status reports for program personnel and business area/company management.
- Prepare latest revised estimates, rolling waves, and other analyses required to assess program performance.
- Analyze, forecast, and report on cost, sales, income, orders, manpower, material, and other related financial data in support of operating plan and long range plan.
Proposal preparation:
- Develop work breakdown structures to be used for proposal preparation and program cost control.
- Provide historical data as required for proposal preparation and audit support.
- Gather estimates and determine cost of labor, material, and other direct costs for budgets.
- Review estimating rationale.
- Support proposals through management review and negotiation.
