Be part of an innovative team that serves defense and aerospace communities with products and services that improve operational safety and enhance mission effectiveness.

WHO WE ARE

Electronics & Integrated Solutions is part of BAE Systems Inc., which is headquartered in the US.

There are 30,000 of us, working at over 100 sites in the US, UK, Sweden and Israel. And our Rochester site is part of the Platform Solutions part of the EI&S business, a very important cog in a large, transatlantic wheel.

We serve the defence and aerospace and business communities with capabilities and products that improve operational safety and enhance mission effectiveness.

We support a wide range of military and commercial platforms. Our world-class technology is helping to redefine what an aircraft (and its pilot) can achieve. And our business is built on many years of competency and experience (you can trace our history back to Elliott Brothers who made flight instrumentation), giving us over 90 years of control and mission systems experience.

Four business areas

Working with our customers and suppliers, we aim to deliver effective systems and a through-life capability to meet the most challenging requirements in four business areas:

  • Defence Avionics
  • Commercial Avionics
  • Military Vehicle Systems
  • Transport Systems

Through these, we are capturing and exploiting the potential of our transatlantic capability. Our market-facing business areas brings all of the capabilities of Platform Solutions to bear on the needs of our customers, enabling us to more thoroughly understand the market, harness our customer relationships, and ensure execution of our programmes.

Rochester

Here in Rochester, we represent all four business areas and support the entire product life cycle, spanning research, business development, bidding, design and development, production integration and support.

We provide two unique capabilities to Platform Solutions and E&IS:

It is a product innovation and development centre with world-leading capabilities in electro optics, electromechanical systems, safety-critical software, and control systems. Rochester's products are helmets, head-up displays, passive and active inceptors, stability augmentation systems, control computing systems, and mission systems.

It provides a gateway to markets in Europe and the Middle East, with employees possessing the market knowledge to provide business development, sales and product support in these regions.

Our production capabilities focus on high-value-added activities, with simpler production subcontracted to lower-cost manufacturing centres.
