Who we are

We're a through-life business.That means we have a hand in almost every stage, from initial concepts and design and manufacture, to in-service support and out of service.


This wide range of involvement means we've proven ability in prime contracting, systems integration, rapid engineering, manufacturing, maintenance, repair and upgrade, and military training.


We work in partnership with our customers and suppliers to ensure we meet operational requirements in these areas, in the most cost-effective way.


Military Air Solutions comprises three through-life businesses:


Typhoon Mission Support & International Programmes (TMS&IP)

Typhoon Mission Support covers all activity associated with our sub-contract responsibilities to Eurofighter GmbH and the four core nations (Germany, Spain, Italy and the UK), as well as our operation at RAF Coningsby, which is focused on maximising mission effectiveness.


International Programmes covers all Hawk and Typhoon international contracts and business acquisition opportunities. It also includes Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) Programmes and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) Home Market Support; which under the leadership of CS&S International includes supply chain responsibilities for Tornado and Typhoon, Hawk Aircraft and Training Systems, Weapons and Role Equipment.


Autonomous Systems & Future Capability (AS&FC)

This business is responsible for addressing emerging global market opportunities created by autonomous systems and related/ supporting technologies. It is also charged with maintaining the company's position as a leader in military aircraft technologies. This business will also oversee the development of BAE Systems' global Unmanned Autonomous Systems (UAS) strategy.

Air Mission Support & Services (AMSS)

The Air Mission Support & Services business is responsible for through-life support to its UK and overseas customers. In the UK, the business supports the armed forces to ensure mission effectiveness of their in-service fixed wing fleet (excluding Typhoon). AMSS also provides leadership to our US programmes. The business has programme responsibility for E3D Sentry, Nimrod MR2 & R, Nimrod MRA4, VC10, Hawk, Harrier, Tornado, F35 Lightning II, T45 Goshawk and AV8B. AMSS is also the business lead for training.
