Third Year Technical Apprentice

"After spending one year on the craft apprenticeship programme, I was selected to transfer on to a technical apprenticeship and so far it has provided me with a whole raft of opportunities and life experiences. My job requires the use of electronic test equipment and IT skills, along with the conventional hammers and spanners.

Working in Combat Systems means I get to work with state of the art radar, sonar and communication systems which I find really interesting. BAE Systems are also supporting me through university so I feel my career is being looked after.

The opportunity for personal development is definitely one of the best things I like about my role. Once I have finished my apprenticeship, I'd like to advance my career in BAE Systems, possibly being involved in the design of new Combat System Equipment for future contracts."
