BAE Systems Surface Fleet Solutions is a significant presence in the communities in which we operate.
We are one of the largest employers in the West of Scotland and our award winning apprenticeship scheme is the largest in Scotland, with over 350 apprentices taken on in the last four years. Our graduate scheme attracts some of the brightest university leavers from a wide range of disciplines, and has an exceptional retention rate, ensuring that we develop world class people and skills.
We are a proud part of 'Team Portsmouth', an initiative that brings together all of the organisations which operate within Portsmouth Naval Base. We have close relationships with our local communities, through long associations with schools, clubs and charities.
We pride ourselves on running a very successful Schools' Roadshow and ambassador programme, taking information into local schools to encourage both primary and secondary school children to consider engineering and shipbuilding as a career.
Every year, our employees take part in the BAE Systems Charity Challenge. Whether this is raising money to help charities working across the whole of the UK, or spending the day using their skills to help smaller local projects, BAE Systems Surface Fleet Solutions employees continue to show their commitment to helping good causes.
