BAE Systems Surface Fleet Solutions is providing the backbone of the Royal Navy fleet for the next quarter of the century, and can deliver naval capability through an unrivalled range of ship and auxiliary vessel programmes.
In order to meet our clients’ demands and ever increasing order book, we now require time served trades operatives for our ship yards in Govan and Scotstoun. You will have served a recognised apprenticeship in one of the following trades to qualify:
Sheet Metal Working
Electrical
Welding
Plating
Painting
Pipe Fitting
Joinery
Information
Applicants will be subject to an occupational health interview which will include a drugs and alcohol test, plus security screening. Shift patterns operate with an enhancement of time and a third on back and night shift. Sunday and public holidays are also paid at time and a third. Contracts are usually 12 week fixed term, with a possibility of extension.
Contractual hours - 37 per week

Benefits - All employees are eligible to join BAE Systems pension scheme. This is an opt out scheme, with re-entry at the discretion of the pension trustees.
