Property & Environmental Services which is part of Shared Services, offers a fully co-ordinated approach to real estate and facilities management. This new service is called ‘Workplace Services’ and broadly covers:
• Real Estate Management – managing your real estate portfolio (both lease and freehold properties)
• Facilities Management – including support services such as cleaning, building maintenance and utilisation, energy management, reception areas and catering
• Workplace Project Management – including mechanical and electrical, space planning and churn management and refurbishment
• Procurement – managing procurement of all facilities services
• Security – ensuring all your security needs are met, from incident management to manned guarding
• Upholding the BAE Systems brand image – from signage to maintenance
We can now take the strain out of all these activities so that the businesses can focus on providing a comfortable working environment for its employees at optimised cost.
Environmental Services
Established in the late 1980s to fulfil an in-house requirement, BAE Systems Environmental multi-disciplinary team has the experience and wide-ranging expertise to deal with specialised and often sensitive land contamination issues in the most cost-effective way.
Offering an integrated approach to the investigation, assessment and remediation of contaminated land our skills, supported by our in-house chemical laboratory, are available to residential and commercial property developers, land owners, local authorities and fellow consultants.
As a major landowner and site operator we believe our understanding of the commercial, planning, and regulatory complexities faced when selling or purchasing property gives us a unique skills set in any project.
From the landowner’s perspective, the process of contaminated land management is summarised on the flow chart that also shows example exit points from the process.
Recognising the potential environmental liabilities and issues associated with the management and redevelopment of brownfield land is the first step in unlocking its potential value.
Our specialist understanding of the issues surrounding defence related sites (that can often be perceived issues only), coupled with UKAS and MCERTS accredited analysis of explosives and conventional contaminants in our in-house chemical laboratory, gives us unparalleled knowledge in assessing and enabling redevelopment of brownfield land.
Clients can also be confident in dealing with the security and financial backing of a FTSE100 company with appropriate types and levels of insurance.
