Systems Engineering Taster Weeks
BAE Systems Military Air Solutions (MAS) are running two "Taster Week" courses at their Warton site from 6th July - 10th July and 13th July - 17th July 2009 and one at the Brough site from 6th July - 10th July 2009.
You will be on site for 5 days giving you the opportunity to participate in a group project in a simulated working environment. Through practical problem solving you will learn the value of team work within a large engineering company and gain an insight into what a Systems Engineer has to do in their day-to-day job. The work will be challenging and open up avenues into engineering disciplines you would have never thought about.
Due to high demand the application deadline for these courses has been extended to the 26th May.
Warton Course:
Two “Taster Week” courses 6th July - 10th July and 13th July - 17th July 2009
The Warton Course is residential so accommodation and food will be provided and various evening activities will be arranged for your entertainment at no cost to yourself. Students will be required to arrive at Warton before 09:00 on the first day of the course.
In return for working hard on your projects, there will be tours around site and presentations from employees that were once students like yourself. You will also be given exclusive access to the state of the art BAE Systems facilities which house the Eurofighter Typhoon and Nimrod to name but a few. You will also have the opportunity to witness a variety aircraft take off and land.
The course staff will include systems engineering undergraduates working for the company; therefore the facilitators will only be a few years older than yourselves and will be able to answer any questions you may have and give you an overview of the company from the perspective of a young engineer.
The taster course has been running for several years and many of the attendees have progressed into a career in engineering and have often returned to work for BAE Systems. It is highly recommended you do not miss out on this fantastic opportunity to find out just how much fun engineering can be and help enhance your C.V.

The course will be hosted by the Award-Winning Brough Education & Industrial Partnerships Team and its staff will include systems engineering undergraduates working for the company supported by existing BAE Systems Technical Apprentices.
