Description of Division:
BAE Systems U.S. Combat Systems (USCS) is the primary supplier of ground vehicles to the U.S. Army, as well as a leading source of major caliber gun systems for the U.S. Army and Navy and a leader in design and production of tactical wheeled vehicles.
The products produced by USCS are developed based on years of advanced research and development experience. Technology developments in composite materials, hybrid electric power systems, integrated vehicle survivability, crew station design, training systems and other features position the organization at the forefront for future ground combat system developments.
USCS is also leading the development of key next-generation weapon systems for the Army and Navy.
USCS, partnered with Navistar Defense, is leading one of three industry teams in the development of prototypes for the new Joint Light Tactical Vehicle – a new combat vehicle program run by the U.S. Army and U.S. Marine Corps to produce a truck that will replace the Humvee.
Under the Navy's DDG 1000 program, the company is developing a new 155-mm gun system called the Advanced Gun System (AGS), a new 155-mm Long Range Land Attack Projectile (LRLAP) and a new missile launching system called the MK57 Vertical Launching System.
Additionally, BAE Systems is providing the 57-mm Mk 110 Naval Gun system and 57-mm Mk 295 ammunition for the Navy's DDG 1000 class ships and the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) as well as the Coast Guard's new Maritime Security Cutter.
