PARACHUTES

PARACHUTES

In 1986, we responded to a U.S. Navy request for an innovative aircrew emergency bailout parachute. The outcome was an exceptional environmentally-sealed design that provides key advantages and improvements over other emergency parachutes. This system is qualified and currently being supplied to the U.S. Navy for low altitude (max. 14,000 ft) use in the P-3 Orion and for high altitude (25,000+ft) use in the E-2C Hawkeye aircraft. We also currently supply parachutes to German, Norwegian and Canadian units.

Our patented, lightweight, backpack-style environmentally-sealed parachute includes J1 canopy releases, weighs only 17 lb (7.7 kg), and has a 5 1/2 year repack cycle. The one-size harness accommodates 3% female to 98% male. This parachute is certified to FAA TSO C-23d and can be integrated into fixed-wing and helicopter crew seats. Features include low descent rate canopy design and compact fit to ease emergency egress from aircraft. In fact, provisions for the integration of the Durachute have been completed for the EH101’s crew seats.
