M777 Portee System
Concept generation and the evolving of the concept through to delivery is key in meeting the needs of the Armed Forces of the future.
Key company attributes to deliver complex concepts include:
- Long and continuous engagement of customer and user groups.
- Ability to interpret and understand user and systems requirements
- An in-depth knowledge of the use and capability of such systems
A holistic approach to the design and development of a vehicle is essential. Land Systems has expertise gained through many years experience of concept modelling, design and physical realisation of such solutions.
Land Systems has a unique understanding of the platform environment and the technology maturation potential which allows the company to successfully design electronic architectures for growth.
M777 Portee System
In response to the UK MOD stated requirement for a 155mm Light Mobile Artillery Weapon Gun System (LIMAWS G) Land Systems’ proposal is focussed on a system solution building upon the maturity of the M777 Gun ( in service with the US Armed Forces), coupled to a Prime Mover Vehicle (Supacat HMT), in the form of a Hybrid-Portee. Land Systems’ solution meets the requirement for a portable, rapidly deployable, accurate and consistent lethal indirect artillery fire support capability.
Evolving Mine Protection
The use of mine protected vehicles evolved from a ‘Southern African phenomena’ during anti-guerrilla operations to an indispensable requirement for asymmetric operations. Land Systems OMC is an acknowledged leader in the mine protection of armoured vehicles and a pioneer in evolving this technology into modern integrated solutions for all types of tactical vehicles. This technology is evolving into a new generation of mine protected light armoured vehicles with lower silhouette, lower vehicle mass and higher crew survivability.
