BAE Systems Bofors is a Swedish company and a part of the BAE Systems Group, represented all around the globe. BAE Systems Bofors is legally owned by the U.S. registered company BAE Systems Inc. BAE Systems Bofors has a workforce of about 550. More than 60% are directly involved in R&D.
From having been a manufacturing company it is now a company completely engaged in development and qualified assembly. In the area of R&D modeling and simulating activities are continuously increasing.
The business unit develops, markets and maintains smart weapon systems within the fields of intelligent ammunition, indirect fire, combat vehicle turrets, naval gun and air defence gun systems. Our company is a big player on the international market although the Swedish defence forces is still one of our biggest customer.

Quality Assurance & Development:
At the same time as the procurement of defence material takes place the customer demands a quality assurance system covering our products and services. Quality assurance is all those planned and systematic operations that are necessary to give sufficient credibility to a product or service, in order to fulfil the requirements on quality.
The BAE Systems Bofors quality system is adapted and certified in accordance with the international standards SS-EN ISO 9001, TickIT and AQAP 2110.
Our intention that total quality will characterize our operations. This means quality in everything we do, both in our work with external customers and in our internal relations. For several years we have had a programme, within the framework of a process oriented approach and operation system, for our long-term quality development.
This means, among other things, applying the criteria in accordance with the Swedish Institute for Quality (SIQ) model for measuring, analysis and further development. The purpose of the programme is to make Bofors one of the leaders in the area of quality and operations development.
The company's prime aims are:
- to ensure its processes do not cause personal injury, damage production plants or the surrounding environment
- to ensure its products are designed for safe handling and have the lowest possible negative effect on the environment

The line organization is responsible for the surrounding and working environments regarding our own work processes. Each head of department is responsible for clearly defining these matters at all levels in the organization.
