Description of Division:
BAE Systems Armament Systems Division (ASD) is the leading source of major caliber gun system solutions for the U.S. armed forces and a key supplier of launching systems for the U.S. Navy.
ASD is also leading the development of key next-generation weapon systems for the Army and Navy.
Under the U.S. Army’s Future Combat System (FCS) program, Armament Systems Division is leading the development of the Non-Line-of-Sight Cannon (NLOS-C), the Army’s next-generation 155-mm self-propelled howitzer and the Non-Line-of-Sight Mortar (NLOS-M), the future mortar system for the Army.
Under the Navy’s DDG1000 program, the company is developing a new 155-mm gun system called the Advanced Gun System (AGS), a new 155-mm Long Range Land Attack Projectile (LRLAP) and a new missile launching system called the Mk–57 Vertical Launching System.
Additionally, BAE Systems is providing the 57-mm Mk 110 Naval Gun system and 57-mm Mk 295 ammunition for the Navy’s DDG1000 class ships and the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) as well as the Coast Guard’s new Maritime Security Cutter.
Current weapon system production for the U.S. Navy includes:
• Mk 45 Mod 4 5-inch Naval Gun system
• Mk 41 Vertical Launching System mechanical components and launch canisters
• Mk 38 Mod 2 25-mm Stabilized Minor Caliber Gun system
• Mk 36 Chaff and Decoy Launching System
• Mk 32 Surface Vessel Torpedo Tubes (SVTT)
• Propulsor propulsion system for Virginia Class submarines.
