This is a 10-year, fixed price, contract for availability and is a fundamental part of our incremental strategy in developing through-life capability.
We are developing the competencies and toolsets required to model capability at the platform level, in addition to the product level. This allows us to deliver common and cost effective platform capability solutions, via technology insertion, across all market sectors.
We have successfully employed technology insertion to mitigate obsolescence in the Type 45 Destroyer programme. We are ensuring that our Combat Management System will be at the build-state after the delivery of all six ships, using the latest technology.
