Michael A. Heffron

Mike Heffron is president of the Electronics, Intelligence & Support (EI&S) operating group within BAE Systems. EI&S, with headquarters in Arlington, Virginia, employs more than 33,000 people and serves the electronics, services, information technology, and power and controls markets.

 

The group provides a wide range of electronic systems and subsystems for military and commercial applications, as well as integrated technical and professional service solutions for U.S. national security and federal markets.

 

Heffron became president of the former BAE Systems Electronics & Integrated Solutions operating group in January 2007. Prior to that, he was president of the company’s Platform Solutions and Information Warfare businesses and served as vice president of engineering for the company’s former Information & Electronic Warfare Systems unit.

 

Heffron began his defense and industry career in 1978 as an engineer in the U.S. Air Force. He has been with BAE Systems and its heritage companies since 1986, when he joined Lockheed Martin’s Aero & Naval Systems business as a senior principal engineer. He served as associate director of programs for the Lockheed Martin Corporate Research Center, and then joined Sanders, a Lockheed Martin Company, where he served in a succession of program director roles before being named vice president of engineering. He continued in that role following the company’s acquisition by BAE Systems in 2000.

 

Heffron received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Detroit and a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Syracuse University. He and his wife, Dawn, live in Bedford, New Hampshire. They have two grown children.
