Background: Customer Solutions Operating Group has three business units: BAE Systems Information Technology, BAE Systems Technology Solutions & Services (TSS), and BAE Systems Ship Repair.
Mission: To seek out and partner with those small businesses that exceed our requirements, provide excellence and contribute to our commitment of delighting our customers.
History: BAE Systems, Inc. was formed in November, 1999 through the merger of British Aerospace North America and Marconi North America. BAE Systems North America's legacy includes Lear Astronics, Hazeltine, Tracor, Reflectone, General Dynamics Electronics Division, GEC-Marconi, Lockheed Martin Control Systems.
In November 2000 BAE Systems, Inc. completed the acquisition of Lockheed Martin Aerospace Electronics Systems (LMAES), which consisted of Sanders, Fairchild Systems, and Lockheed Martin Space & Electronics Systems.
Since 2000, BAE Systems, Inc. has acquired nine additional companies. Those purchases fall in line with the company's strategy of acquiring profitable, growing businesses with strong, differentiated technologies. In June 2005, BAE Systems, Inc. acquired United Defense Industries (UDI).
The strength of the BAE Systems Customer Solutions Small Business Programs has also grown and developed as a direct result of the outstanding growth experienced by BAE Systems, Inc.
