Ship Repair San Diego Community Relations

At our shipyards, doing the right thing means more than just going about your daily business.

Our "People are Important" philosophy carries over into the communities in which we live and work. We have chosen to take an active role in our neighborhoods, allocating resources, both monetary and human, to improve the quality of life for under-privileged children and adults. We’ve funded a new roof for a community medical clinic and raised thousands of dollars to keep a neighborhood swimming pool open in an area of "at-risk" children.

Our shipyards have sponsored and supported Boys’ and Girls Clubs, United Way, the Leukemia Society of America, cancer research, AIDS research, juvenile diabetes research, literacy programs, victims of violent crimes, the Multiple Sclerosis Society, the YWCA, Home Start Programs, the National Conference for Community and Justice in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King and many others.

We’ve also helped our men and women in the military by supporting various USO projects, the Armed Services YMCA, Fleet Week, the Navy Relief Society, Navy Surface Warfare Officers’ Wives Scholarship Program, National Naval Officers Association Scholarship Fund and the Navy League.

Generous, kindhearted people from BAE Systems shipyards also support beach cleanups, storm drain stenciling, holiday toy drives, tree plantings, blood drives and many other community activities.

Community service is a prerequisite for being good corporate citizens. At BAE Systems Ship Repair, we also consider it a privilege to be able to give back to the people who need us the most!
