Supporting our Customer

We are particularly proud to be a worldwide strategic partner of the USO, a private non-profit organisation which provides assistance for US military personnel and their families.

In the UK, the company sponsors the UK Ministry of Defence's Christmas gift box scheme through the UK4U - Thanks charity.

Every year the company supports a wide range of education projects encouraging young people to take an interest in science and technology. One hugely successful and long-running partnership is with the US-based FIRST Robotics Challenge. Last year some 30 teams across the United States were sponsored by BAE Systems and received assistance from our engineers and designers in their entries to the Challenge. Additionally, in Saudi Arabia the Company supports the British Council-run Chevening Scholarships, which give young people the opportunity to study in the UK and return with skills that will contribute to the development of their home country.

Since its inception in 1989, the Company's global Charity Challenge employee fundraising programme has raised more than £32m for national and local charities and employees have volunteered around 25,000 days to raise funds and support charities directly. In 2007 and 2008 our nominated Charity Challenge partners are MacMillan Cancer Support in the UK, The Cancer Council Australia and The Alzheimer's Association in the US.

BAE Systems is also delighted to be an innovation partner with UK Sport. The company is giving £1.5M of engineering resources and technologies to support British athletes achieve sporting success at the Summer and Winter Olympics, Paralympics, World and European Championships.
