We are providing total lifecycle support to over 100 U.S. Navy surface ships from four repair facilities in the continental U.S. and Hawaii. As an experienced, full-service, multi-ship multi-option prime contractor, we offer the total array of business processes necessary to maintain fleet readiness. In our trusted partnership with the U.S. Navy, we work proactively to build, train, and retain a stable workforce; make real improvements in ship repair safety; and maintain active subcontractor and teaming relationships that expand the U.S. industrial base.
Our Lean Six Sigma Program continues to provide significant customer benefit. This continuous improvement process was first initiated in 2001. It is now in place at three of our four ship repair facilities. By the end of 2006, we will have completed 16 Lean Six Sigma Program activities. Aggregate LSS program savings are estimated at $1 million from process improvements such as elimination of tank pre-inspections, reduced time to perform tail shaft repairs on DDG Class vessels, and faster processing of condition reports.
