Niteworks brings together the best of the UK's defence capability to deliver vital contributions in three principal areas namely current frontline operations; future acquisition decisions and major capability programmes.

The Niteworks Partnership consists of 11 UK defence industry companies (BAE Systems, EADS, EDS, Finmeccanica, General Dynamics, Lockheed Martin UK, Logica, MBDA, QinetiQ, Raytheon and Thales) together with MOD, Dstl, and a number of Associate companies.

Background to Niteworks

Established in 2003, Niteworks is a highly flexible decision support tool for the MoD, overcoming traditional intellectual property constraints within a unique partnering model that stimulates innovative thinking in a spirit of openness and transparency.

Niteworks outputs have delivered benefits in excess of £450 million to the MoD across all the Defence Lines of Development. Niteworks 'Themes' have also assisted UK forces on current deployments, enhancing front-line effectiveness through improved processes, doctrine and interoperability.

In December 2007 Niteworks was awarded a five-year, £43 million contract and was praised by Baroness Taylor, Minister Defence Equipment and Support, who said: "Niteworks has proven its worth repeatedly to the Equipment Acquisition community and Front Line Commands".
